Accessibility Policy

Effective date: August 28, 2026

Pride in Care is a B2B 2SLGBTQI+ inclusion consulting and education business for the seniors' care sector. Based in Ottawa, Ontario, we serve organizations across Canada and are committed to making our information, services, and events welcoming and accessible to everyone.

We recognize that accessibility is an ongoing practice. We listen, learn, and make reasonable efforts to remove barriers for people with disabilities and for anyone who needs information or support in a different way.

1. Information and Communication

We communicate with our clients, partners, and community in ways that are respectful, clear, and accessible. We aim to make our website, digital resources, presentations, and other communications easy to understand and navigate.

If you need information from Pride in Care in an alternative format, or if you need help using our website or resources, please contact us. We will work with you to provide the information in a format that meets your needs, where reasonably possible.

2. Canadian Accessibility Standards and Regulations

Pride in Care is committed to meeting or exceeding applicable Canadian accessibility standards and regulations. Because we serve organizations across Canada, we recognize that accessibility requirements can differ between provinces and territories.

We use the Accessible Canada Act, applicable provincial requirements, and recognized digital accessibility practices as guides for our work. We review our approach as standards and the needs of the people we serve continue to evolve.

3. Public-Facing Services

Pride in Care provides 2SLGBTQI+ inclusion consulting, education, training, and related resources for organizations in the seniors' care sector. We are committed to making our public-facing services available in a respectful and accessible way.

We will discuss accessibility needs with clients and participants in advance wherever possible and will make reasonable efforts to adapt our communication, materials, and delivery approach. Please let us know what would help you participate fully.

4. Assistive Devices, Service Animals, Service Dogs or Guide Dogs

Pride in Care welcomes people who use assistive devices, service animals, service dogs, or guide dogs. We will not prevent a person from using an assistive device or from being accompanied by a service animal in areas where our services or events take place, subject to applicable laws and legitimate health and safety requirements.

If a service animal cannot be present for a specific reason, we will work with the person to identify another way for them to access our services.

5. Support Workers

Pride in Care welcomes support workers who accompany a person accessing our services or attending one of our events. We will communicate with the person receiving support and their support worker in a respectful and inclusive way, while respecting the person's privacy and choices.

If an event or service has specific arrangements for support workers, we will share that information in advance and discuss any questions with the participant.

6. Service Interruptions

Pride in Care will make reasonable efforts to provide notice when an interruption affects our website, booking process, digital resources, consulting services, training, or events. When possible, we will share the reason for the interruption, how long it may last, and any available alternatives.

If you need assistance during an interruption, please contact us so we can discuss another way to provide the information or support you need.

7. Process for Receiving Feedback

We welcome feedback about the accessibility of Pride in Care's website, communications, services, materials, and events. Feedback helps us understand barriers and improve our approach.

You can send feedback by email to hello@prideincare.org. You may provide feedback in the format that works best for you. We will review feedback thoughtfully, keep personal information confidential as appropriate, and work with you to understand and address the issue.

You do not need to identify yourself when sharing general feedback. We will not treat anyone differently for raising an accessibility concern.

8. Transportation

Pride in Care does not provide transportation services. When our work involves an in-person meeting or event, we will share the location and available accessibility information in advance. We will consider accessibility-related requests about arrival, departure, and participation when planning with a client or event host.

9. In-Person Events

Pride in Care aims to hold in-person events, workshops, and training sessions in venues that are accessible and welcoming. We will consider accessible entrances, washrooms, seating, lighting, sound, and routes through the space when planning an event.

Please tell us about your accessibility needs when registering or as early as possible before an event. We will make reasonable efforts to arrange accommodations and can discuss alternatives if a particular venue or format creates a barrier.
